No, I haven't been kidnapped by aliens...

...but I have to admit I am very tardy in my participation here. Workload is a little hairy right now, plus I'm in the process of moving. I am desperately trying to catch up with my lessons.

Overheard at breakfast this morning...

On my way to the grocery store, I decided to stop for breakfast (shopping while hungry, not a good idea). At the booth across from me a woman was explaining to her husband that the "no texting at the table" rule applies to him, too and also will be enforced at restaurants. He looked pained, to say the least.

Well, I did it

Had a little bit of trouble, but here is my first blog post. This blog is created as part of the program "21 Things for 21st Century KidLibs," in which I'm participating with a number of my colleagues. I think library technology has advanced to such a point that the next "new" thing doesn't even surprise me anymore, it seems like a logical progression. This summer, as part of our summer reading program, we have asked people to add tags and reviews to our new Encore catalog. I have been really surprised at the response, especially from kids. They are very eager to send us a review and also to add tags which are added to our catalog.
